Motoryacht August is a 1985 49' Pilothouse DeFever equipped with twin 135 Hp Ford Lehman engines giving a cruise speed of 8.7 knots @ 2000 Rpm and a max speed of 9.8 knots @2500 Rpm. the fuel consumption is 4.6 GPH @1900 Rpm with a fuel tank capacity of 700 gallons. The length overall is 49' 10" 41' 4" at the waterline with a draft of 5' 4" and an air draft of 14' 5" The vessel comfortably sleeps 4 in two staterooms with two heads with showers.
August is very nicely decorated with wool carpeting, honeycomb window shades, custom cushions, she has a high low dinette table that seats 6 for dining in the salon also the settee can convert into two additional berths.
The vessels galley is equipped with a cold plate refrigerator with two freezers, electric stove with oven, Microwave with exhaust fan, dishwasher, trash compactor, 13.3 Cu Ft pantry, huge pot and pan storage area, custom under counter trash storage with outside access door, and there is also a sea water rinse faucet at the sink.
The engine room access can be accesses on the centerline at the galley and through the hatch on the aft deck. there you will find twin 135 hp Ford Leman Diesels with velvet drive gear boxes with PSS dripless shaft seals and kelp cutters on shafts and stabilizers. There is a hydraulic engine driven pump for the Niad Stabilizers, and an engine driven emergency bilge pump. The Starboard engine has a hydraulic pump that powers the vessels bow thruster, Davit crane, anchor windlass with 300' of 3/8 BBB chain and a hydraulic operated radar arch to fit the boathouse.
The vessels power comes from a 30 Amp shore cord or the vessels 8Kw Westerbeke generator in a sound shield located behind the starboard main engine. she is also equipped with a Heart EMS 1800-12 Inverter that is wired to the vessels (10) 6v house batteries. the vessel is equipped with an Electro-guard electrolysis monitoring system. The webasto diesel fired hydronic heater keeps the vessel very cozy on those cool days and can also be used for heat from the main engines.
Dual 900 FG Racor fuel filters for both main engines insure safety in the event of contaminated fuel. The generator has a 500 Series Racor for primary filtration. Super bright LED lighting helps when doing engine room checks.
Garmin 7610xsv chart plotter with 12" screen in pilothouse and 9" on flying bridge. Garmin XSV GPS map in pilothouse. Garmin 4kw HD Radar w/24" antenna. Loads of storage aboard August for gear, provisioning and spare parts. Several USB power plugs through the vessel. A full canvas cover that spans from the stern to the pilothouse roof.
The vessels tender is a 10' Apex inflatable with a 20hp Tohatsu outboard, equipped with electric trim and tilt , depth finder/Fish finder.
AC Power is supplied by dual 50 Amp 125V shore power inlet and a 12.5kw Westerbeke generator. The generator is located in the engine room and is very easy to service. The generator also has a Westerbeke sound shield.
Twin Johnson & Towers (J&T) 220hp diesels provide power to this vessel. She will cruise @ 12 knots burning a modest 11 GPH and she will top out @ 15. The engine room is open and spacious, making it easy to get around and service the machinery. The engines are mounted on steel stringers with stringers running both fore & aft and athwardships. Other equipment located in the engine room: an Espar D12L force air furnace, Vac-u-flush toilet vacuum pump, Westerbeke 12.5kw generator, 4ea. 8D batteries in fiberglass battery boxes, freshwater pump and the raw water pump for the fore deck washdown system.
